Nick is a history teacher and he started podcasting as a way of getting his class more involved. Three years later and his ‘class’ now has 100,000 students and enthusiasts in it and he hears from listeners all around the world. Nick combines his expertise in modern history with an accessible and personal style and places his own energy and enthusiasm at the heart of everything he does. This has led to a massive expansion in listeners over the past three years.

Mike Russell, co-founder of the UK Podcasters community and the New Media Europe conference, presents The Longest Podcast in the World. This project was born from an extraordinary 36-hour live marathon broadcast on April 21st and 22nd, 2016, where Mike stayed awake for the entire duration to set a world record for the longest continuous podcast. The event became a vibrant, real-time gathering, connecting with thousands who watched, listened, and participated in the chat throughout the historic run. These archived episodes capture the unique energy and spontaneous conversations of that marathon, blending discussions on the technology and business of podcasting with the unexpected comedy that emerges during a sleep-deprived, non-stop broadcast. Tuning in, you'll hear the raw, unscripted moments and genuine community interaction that made the record possible. It's a time capsule of a unique achievement in audio, exploring the dedication behind content creation while celebrating the collaborative spirit that defines the medium. This podcast stands as a testament to what happens when passion pushes past conventional limits, offering listeners a direct line into a milestone moment for podcasters everywhere.
