Federal law requires citizenship in order to vote in a federal election, but that law does not apply to state and local elections. Last November noncitizens were able to vote illegally in Michigan, including a Chinese student attending the University of Michigan, as well as at least 15 more noncitizens who cast ballots in our elections. A petition drive is underway to amend the Michigan Constitution to clearly state that only U.S. citizens may vote in state and local elections.

It was a nearly 30-point blow-out victory for the Michigan Women's Basketball team over Indiana on the road Thursday. The Wolverines crushed the Hoosiers, 95-67. As for the men, they are on the road preparing to take on the Spartans tonight in East Lansing, following their exciting win over Nebraska earlier this week.
