July 29, 2025 ~ Lucy Ann Lance is joined by Ashley Schafer with Main Street Area Association and Al Snow from Destination Ann Arbor for this week's Community cares. Skilled trades from all over the country converge in Ann Arbor every summer with some 6,000 union members attending training programs, giving a $23M boost to our local economy.  The educational expertise and amenities at Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan University draw these union trainers here; the planned events and welcoming atmosphere through Destination Ann Arbor and the Main Street Area Association keep them coming back.
