October 27, 2025 ~ Lucy Ann Lance is joined by Andy Hetzel, VP of Corporate Communications for this week's A Healthier Michigan with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Andy discusses their “Strengthening the Safety Net” grant program. For over 20 years, this program has funded clinics providing free or low-cost medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare to uninsured or underinsured Michigan residents. This initiative has supported over a quarter million residents, resulted in two million doctor visits, and saved $200 million by reducing unnecessary emergency room visits.
