Buddy Stark ~ Scanning The June Night Skies

June 2, 2025 ~ Lucy Ann Lance talks with Buddy Stark, Planetarium Manager, University of Michigan Museum of Natural History as we look skyward for the month of June! They discuss the summer solstice on June 20th, the best time to view the Milky Way, and the new T-Rex film being shown at the planetarium. Buddy explained that the summer solstice marks the longest day of the year when the North Pole is most directly pointed toward the sun and that the Milky Way is most visible in the summer in areas with dark skies away from city lights. Hannah, Buddy's wife, joined the show and shared the story of their planetarium proposal and her ongoing attempts to learn the constellations.
