Author: The Movie Podcast January 4, 2024 Duration: 38:05
On this SPECIAL EDITION of The Movie Podcast, Daniel and Shahbaz are joined by SOCIETY OF THE SNOW Director J. A. BAYONA of and Roberto Canessa, the real life survivor of the 1972 Andes Flight Disaster in which the film is based on. In 1972, Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, which had been chartered to fly a rugby team to Chile, crashed in the heart of the Andes. Only 29 of its 45 passengers survived the accident. Trapped in one of the most hostile and inaccessible environments on the planet, they have to resort to extreme measures to stay alive. After the interview, Anthony joins the discussion to share his thoughts on the film. Society of the Snow has been selected by Spain as its official entry for the Best International Film category at the 2024 Academy Awards and is now streaming on Netflix.
