The Continental Interview with Action Director Larnell Stovall

Author: The Movie Podcast September 29, 2023 Duration: 20:09
On this SPECIAL EDITION of The Movie Podcast, Daniel and Shahbaz are joined by Action Director LARNELL STOVALL of The Continental, a three-part series that explores the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins, which is the centrepiece of the John Wick universe. The show is seen through the eyes of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the hellscape of 1970s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his throne. Born and raised in New Orleans, Larnell Stovall is a 5th dan and a former world champion in fighting, weapons, and forms (kata). In 2001, he moved to LA to pursue a career in the film industry as a stunt performer. He then worked his way up to action choreographer, stunt coordinator, 2nd unit director, and director, having recently premiered his first episode of DC’s Titans. With 200 credits to his name and a career that took him from Bollywood to Tollywood, Stovall is best known for his work on Hollywood’s most prominent blockbusters such as Creed, Captain America: Civil War, Ride Along, The Raid 2, The Fate of The Furious, and Mortal Kombat. The Continental is now streaming on Prime Video in Canada and Peacock in the United States.
