The store carries a wide variety of vintage and consignment items, and the owner invited Jennifer to participate in a community gathering of vendors.The event allowed Jennifer to connect with small business owners, readers, and community members while promoting Becoming Fire.She later returned to the shop for a book signing event, where attendees had the opportunity to purchase copies and discuss the stories behind the book. Honoring a Fallen State TrooperAnother meaningful event during the weekend was attending the memorial service for Master Trooper Ja Junior Walker, who was killed in the line of duty.Jennifer writes about Walker in Chapter Three of Becoming Fire.The memorial service marked the 13th anniversary of his passing, and Jennifer attended to honor his legacy and support his family.The event brought together law enforcement officers and community members who shared stories about Walker and remembered his decades of service.Jennifer described the experience as both solemn and deeply meaningful. Speaking at the Dinwiddie LibraryJennifer also participated in a speaking engagement at the Dinwiddie Library, part of the Appomattox Regional Library system.The event included:
