Adopt One Block

There’s a whole world of people and organizations in Portland working quietly-and sometimes not so quietly-to make the city a better place. The Non-Profit Happy Hour pulls up a chair to that work every week. Hosted by Phil Busse and Carlye Meisburger, this podcast from XRAY.fm offers more than just interviews; it’s a mix of candid conversations, in-depth profiles, and documentary-style stories that get to the heart of what drives local do-gooders. You’ll hear directly from the folks running nonprofits, the volunteers showing up, and the community members being served. The tone is conversational and real, like catching up with friends who are deeply plugged into the city’s civic life. Each episode feels like a chance to look behind the curtain at the passion, challenges, and small victories that define Portland's nonprofit scene. It’s a weekly reminder of the collective effort happening block by block. Tune in for a genuine and engaging take on the people who dedicate their time to mission-driven work, all shared through this thoughtful and locally-produced podcast.
