S2.1 Warm-blooded

James Morello works the night shift on a far away space station. During one of his shifts, he realizes there’s something else out there with him in vast, emptiness.

Trey Stone grew up in rural Norway, the youngest of three siblings, excluding his younger brother who doesn’t count. Trey was always fascinated with stories, choosing more often than not to sit still and read and write about adventures than to run around outside having them in person.

Trey has written five novels, including The Consequence of Loyalty, A State of Despair, A Form of Revenge, At The Gate & A Death Worth Living, and Fjordbeist, which is in Norwegian. He’s also written a handful of short stories.

He has a degree in archaeology from the University of Southampton – what is archaeology if not storytelling, -building, -making, -sharing, and -investigating – and when he’s not writing he spends his time working as a slightly shorter (but much prettier) Harrison Ford-wannabe.

Trey plays guitar with Norwegian death metal band Dark Delirium and sings, writes and plays in singer-songwriter folk-pop band Maryon. He likes playing video games, his favorites being anything by Bethesda, the main Pokemon series, and he has a nostalgic love for the Warcraft universe.

He’ll occasionally run, though he much prefers to lift weights. He’s an uncle to at least 15 kids and he loves to travel if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s such a pain in the ass to do.

Trey lives on an Arctic island, at 78 degrees north, where he works protecting the cultural heritage.

Forget the familiar tales you think you know. The Other Stories | Sci-Fi, Horror, Thriller, WTF Stories is a weekly anthology that digs into the strange, the unsettling, and the profoundly unexpected. Created by Hawk & Cleaver, a digital story studio dedicated to crafting absorbing narratives, this podcast delivers a fresh, self-contained story every Monday. Each episode is a journey into a different corner of the imagination, drawing inspiration from the spirit of classic anthology series but with a distinctly modern voice. You might find yourself in a near-future city where technology has a terrifying price, or in a quiet house hiding an ancient, whispering secret. The genres bend and blend, offering everything from psychological dread and cosmic horror to mind-bending science fiction and darkly ironic thrillers. The common thread is a commitment to compelling fiction that pulls you in from the first line and leaves you thinking long after the final sound fades. It’s a curated escape for anyone who craves a story that defies easy categorization, where the only guarantee is that you won’t hear the same thing twice. Tune in and let your weekly routine be interrupted by something genuinely other.
