PMP #233: Optimising for easy

PMP #233: Optimising for easy

Author: Paul Minors November 21, 2021 Duration: 10:36
This week, I’d like to expand on an idea I started talking about last week where I discussed prioritising efficiency over growth. I was recently interviewed for the Adil Amarsi Unplugged Podcast and on the show, we talked about growing your business and income. I shared my philosophy on growth which I actually picked up from Paul Jarvis. I told Adil that right now, I’m more attracted to the idea of working less compared to earning more. It’s not that I don't care about growth or money but it’s not the end goal. Put another way, I simply want my business to be as ‘easy’ as possible. What do I mean by that? Given the choice, I’d rather work on projects or with clients that are easier to deal with. The way I see it, we’re fortunate in that right now we have enough work to keep ourselves busy, so let's optimise for what’s easy. That way, we can deliver projects quicker, not only making our lives easier but also allowing us to service more clients compared to taking on larger, more difficult projects. Paul Minors has built a life where his work fits around his interests, not the other way around. In The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement, he digs into the practical systems and mindset shifts that make that possible. This isn't about abstract theory; it's a direct conversation about the tools and tactics for automating tasks, streamlining business operations, and fundamentally redesigning your time. Paul speaks from his own experience as a virtual consultant, breaking down how he structures his income and manages projects to maintain freedom and control. Each episode feels like a focused workshop, whether he's dissecting a specific productivity app, exploring a business growth principle, or interviewing someone who has mastered their own workflow. You'll find a consistent theme woven through the podcast: that real self-improvement is measured in reclaimed hours and reduced friction, not just positive thinking. It's for anyone who feels their days are slipping away in administrative loops or reactive work, and who believes there must be a more intentional way to build both a living and a life. The discussions are grounded, often technical in the best way, and always aimed at delivering something you can apply immediately to work smarter.
