Cherie explains the two-fold problem: the industrial processing (500°F heat, hexane extraction, deodorizing, bleaching) and the omega-6 to omega-3 imbalance it creates in the body — and in our pets, where AAFCO doesn't even regulate that ratio, so most kibble runs closer to 30:1 instead of the 4:1 we should be aiming for.
