Episode 384 - Lumens and Candela with John Scheuermann

Episode 384 - Lumens and Candela with John Scheuermann

Author: Austin Diehl July 29, 2026 Duration: 1:33:52

John Scheuermann is one half of Redline Consulting, the Media Manager for Modlite, and a dedicated student of performance shooting. Through hosting low-light workshops with Redline, his own personal training and learning, as well as obviously his role at Modlite, John has a lot of knowledge on not only white lights as tools, but around their applications within practical shooting, as well as self defense. We dive into lumens and candela, the conversation which still dominates many discussions, as well as light placement on the gun, understanding controls, and more. Having the tool alone, is not enough to make you successful. The end-user has to know how to apply the solution to achieve maximum benefits. This was a great conversation, and one that I think many need to hear, especially if they've purchased a light, but haven't taken the opportunity truly learn how to apply it.
