The West Block Video Podcast

Hosted by Tom Clark, The West Block Video Podcast from Global News turns the typical political conversation inside out. Instead of focusing solely on the voices within the capital, this series begins its work far from the corridors of power. Each episode is built from conversations with people in towns and cities across Canada, capturing the questions and challenges that define daily life outside Ottawa. Tom Clark then takes those direct concerns into the heart of the federal government, seeking clarity and accountability from decision-makers. The result is a dialogue that flows in both directions, ensuring national discourse is rooted in the experiences of the public it serves. By prioritizing these ground-level perspectives, the podcast creates a more authentic and urgent kind of political journalism. You'll hear unscripted exchanges from community gatherings, followed by pointed interviews with officials who are asked to respond directly to the issues raised. This format bridges the often vast distance between citizens and their representatives, making complex policy debates personally relevant. Tune in for a substantive, on-the-ground look at how national politics intersects with local reality, all through the accessible, engaging medium of a video podcast.
