Jonathan Conricus | Israel & The War of Words | Israel-Hamas War | Conversation with Shana Meyerson

Hours after the diabolical Hamas attacks on Israel, the morning of October 7, 2023, Retired Lieutenant Colonel, Jonathan Conricus reported as a civilian volunteer for reserve duty and was appointed as an IDF Reserve International Spokesperson.

After serving 24 years in the Israel Defense Forces, including four years as International Spokesperson from 2017-2021, he was just the right person for the job.

He remained in that distinguished position until the end of 2023 and in those grueling three months, he conducted a nonstop flurry of interviews, briefings, and events. Covering all time zones and media outlets, Jonathan conducted 30-40 interviews with top-tier news services every night, and filled his days with Zoom calls, meetings, and diplomacy.

His service to his nation was tireless, unwavering, and inspiring, as he educated us all on the truth about Israel and their defensive and existential war in Gaza.

Despite the media's relentless anti-Israel bias and aggression, Jonathan never lost his cool. Never lost his composure.

As the voice of sanity and rationality in a hostile and sometimes antisemitic world, he reminded us daily--many times a day--how and why Israel is fighting this war. And why, no matter what, Israel must win.

In this LIVE conversation, Shana Meyerson of YOGAthletica and Jonathan Conricus discuss Israel's expansive war against Iran and all its proxies, and what we can expect in the years to come.

If you are a yogi or yogini who thinks that Israel is the aggressor and oppressor of the Middle East, you owe it to yourself to listen to this discussion about the evil terrorist forces that Israel has always been up against, and the international communications machine that is hell-bent on delegitimizing the Jewish State.

This podcast explores the profound moral and ethical questions surrounding the Israel-Gaza War, specifically through a pro-Israel lens, while being grounded in the ancient philosophy of yoga. The central, challenging tension is between the yogic tenet of Ahimsa-non-violence-and the duty to defend one’s community as discussed in texts like the Bhagavad Gita. Each episode features conversations with a diverse range of voices, from activists and thinkers to community leaders, who share their insights and personal reckonings with this conflict. Listeners will hear nuanced discussions that don’t shy away from the tragedy of war but instead seek to understand the justification and heavy responsibility of a defensive fight. It’s a series for those grappling with how to hold space for peace and spiritual non-violence while confronting the necessity of standing for Israel and Jewish peoplehood in a time of crisis. The dialogue in this podcast is intentionally focused, offering perspective and depth on current events filtered through enduring principles of faith, politics, and human dignity.
