Rabbi David Wolpe, named The Most Influential Rabbi in America by Newsweek and one of the 50 Most Influential Jews in the World by The Jerusalem Post, is a brilliant and articulate scholar not just on Judaism, but also on Israel, antisemitism, and all issues affecting the world Jewish community.

Among his tremendous distinctions was a one-year residency at Harvard University in 2023/24...that just happened to coincide with the most monumental event to affect the Jewish world since the Holocaust.

Rabbi Wolpe has a unique perspective and first-hand knowledge of the antisemitic tide in higher ed...and lower ed...and society at large.

In this informative conversation, Shana Meyerson of YOGAthletica and Rabbi Wolpe discuss modern-day antisemitism—particularly in Gen Z---and its implications for both the present and the future of the West.

If you are a yogi or yogini who believes that anti-Israel, anti-Zionist, or antisemitic actions or beliefs are either a form of social justice or a passing phase in the lives of uninformed youth, you owe it to yourself and to humanity to listen to this discussion with an open mind and heart.

Hosted by Shana Meyerson, The Yoga of War Podcast: Fighting for Israel & The Jewish People exists in the complex space where spiritual principle meets stark reality. This podcast explores the profound moral and ethical questions surrounding the Israel-Gaza War, specifically through a pro-Israel lens, while being grounded in the ancient philosophy of yoga. The central, challenging tension is between the yogic tenet of Ahimsa-non-violence-and the duty to defend one’s community as discussed in texts like the Bhagavad Gita. Each episode features conversations with a diverse range of voices, from activists and thinkers to community leaders, who share their insights and personal reckonings with this conflict. Listeners will hear nuanced discussions that don’t shy away from the tragedy of war but instead seek to understand the justification and heavy responsibility of a defensive fight. It’s a series for those grappling with how to hold space for peace and spiritual non-violence while confronting the necessity of standing for Israel and Jewish peoplehood in a time of crisis. The dialogue in this podcast is intentionally focused, offering perspective and depth on current events filtered through enduring principles of faith, politics, and human dignity.
