Episode 179 Jorge Rosado of Merauder

Author: TIHC Podcast August 1, 2025 Duration: 1:33:22
Episode 179 Jorge Rosado As we close in on TIHC 2025, I got to speak with Jorge who is back once again playing This Is Hardcore. We start at his beginnings, finding music and like minded individuals in the most NYC way possible. Over the course of the last 30 + years, Jorge has fronted a few lesser known bands and we talk a bit about it and then his joining Merauder for the legendary recording of Master Killer. Alot of emotion came out of this conversation and at times we touch back on things that may conceptually not be in line with the modern hardcore scene, but it all lays out the path and history of Jorge and what he went through. Hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed laughing and talking about older bands, metal and Jorge's many bands and aspirations. For over four decades, a particular energy has fueled underground music, built communities from scratch, and turned passion into tangible reality. This Is Hardcore Podcast digs into that engine room. The conversations here are less about nostalgia and more about the mechanics of making things happen, focusing on the do-ers and the makers whose relentless work ethic defined a culture. You’ll hear long-form interviews and personal stories that pull back the curtain on the DIY ethos, offering practical insight and raw inspiration drawn from lived experience. This podcast serves as an oral archive of hard-won knowledge, from starting a label and booking tours to fostering a scene that lasts. It’s a deep dive into the mindset required to push through, aimed at both new generations looking for a blueprint and those who need a reminder of the fire that started it all. The goal is simple: to disseminate the unbelievable amount of valuable, often unspoken, information discussed in these conversations, instilling that core principle of hard work and rekindling a foundational spirit. Tune in for genuine talk from the people who built the stages, pressed the records, and kept the show going against all odds.
