Work Generation 😩📉 I have no work, what should I do?

Author: Greg Allan: Business Podcast For Construction and Trade Entrepreneurs September 21, 2023 Duration: 8:42

G'day, mates! Today, we're tackling a common challenge faced by tradies: the dreaded "no work" situation. I've been there, and it's a rollercoaster of emotions. But fear not, because I've got some insights to help you navigate these rough waters.

Picture this: you're working your butt off, back-to-back jobs, and it feels like you're on top of the world. Business is booming, right? But then, out of nowhere, the work dries up, and you're left scratching your head, wondering, "What just happened?"

The thing is, this rollercoaster ride is a common occurrence in the trade business world. It's like a cycle of feast and famine. And the root cause? Well, it often comes down to a lack of balance and systems in your business.

You see, when you're in the thick of it, frantically trying to keep up with all the work, you can lose sight of the bigger picture. Your focus shifts to the immediate tasks at hand, and that's where the trouble begins.

You stop quoting new jobs, you stop following up on quotes, and you might not pay as much attention to inquiries. It's a classic case of being too reactive. You're so busy on the tools that you neglect the essential task of bringing in new work.

And that's when the quiet periods hit. You've been so absorbed in the workload that you've inadvertently created a gap in your pipeline. You're not generating new leads because you stopped actively seeking them.

So, what's the solution? Consistency and balance in your business. You need systems in place to manage the workload effectively. This way, you can avoid those wild fluctuations from "crazy busy" to "total drought."

If you've got any questions or need advice, shoot me a message and I will be happy to help!

Keep up the hard work, and I'll catch you next time. Cheers!
