Author: TravCon: The Travelers Conference August 27, 2026 Duration: 33:43

Finding the right housing can make or break a travel healthcare assignment. From location and cost to safety, lease terms, and avoiding red flags, there’s a lot to consider before you sign on the dotted line.

In this episode of the TravCon Travel Nursing & Allied Podcast, we’re joined by Steve Curtin, President of Vidle Housing, and Taylor Miebach, Co-Founder & VP of Marketplace Strategy at Vidle Housing, for a practical conversation about one of the biggest pieces of the travel healthcare experience: finding a place to call home.

Steve brings extensive experience in healthcare travel and the housing space. As President of Vidle Housing, he is helping shape the future of furnished, mid-term housing specifically for healthcare travelers. Prior to Vidle Housing, Steve spent years working within the healthcare staffing industry and brings a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing today’s healthcare travelers.

Taylor co-founded Vidle Housing and leads marketplace strategy, focusing on connecting healthcare travelers with quality housing in the markets where they need it most. His background includes experience in corporate housing serving traveling nurses, as well as real estate investment and multi-state operations. At Vidle, he works across demand validation, partnerships, and marketplace strategy to help build a better housing experience for healthcare professionals on the move.

Together, Steve and Taylor break down 10 key tips for healthcare travelers when securing housing — from what to look for and what questions to ask to how to recognize potential red flags before committing to a place.

🏠 In this episode, we cover:

  • What healthcare travelers should consider when searching for housing
  • Questions to ask before booking or signing a lease
  • Common housing red flags to watch for
  • How early travelers should start their housing search
  • How to approach housing for your next assignment
