We have done it, Chris and Derek reach the finale of the season to discuss Invincible Season 4 Episode 8 Don't Leave Me Hanging Here. A somber and highly intense close to another excellent season.

Invincible 406 Don't Leave Me Hanging Here Synopsis

Created by: Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Cory Walker

Episode Written by: Simon Racioppa

Directed by: Ian Abando

Mark, Nolan, and Tech Jacket race back to Earth, but despite Mark’s worst fears they find it intact.

As Mark reunites with his mother, Eve, and his friends, he experiences hallucinations of Thragg killing them individually as retribution for the destruction of the Viltrumite home world.

Nolan revisits the crater where he pummeled Mark and is confronted by a distrustful Cecil, who urges Nolan to get the Coalition to arrive quickly if the Viltrumites arrive on Earth.

Debbie and Paul mutually end their relationship, while Eve tearfully informs Mark that she aborted her pregnancy in fear of having to raise the baby alone. She didn't know what else to do.

Debbie goes to Talescria with Nolan to care for Oliver, while Mark leisurely flies alone at Eve’s suggestion to relieve his anxieties, only to add to them when he encounters Grand Regent Thragg high over planet Earth.

Thragg informs Mark that the remaining 37 Viltrumites are indeed on Earth, secretly living among humans to repopulate; he threatens to destroy the planet if they are disturbed, but promises that they will not interfere positively or negatively with humans if they are left alone.

After realising he really has no choice at all, Mark reluctantly agrees to his terms.

Meanwhile, The Great Allen receives a post-mortem message from Thaedus for his eye only. In the message he is instructed to use the perfected Scourge Virus to eliminate the remaining Viltrumites, even though it may also be lethal to Mark's people.
