Hillside Manor Fire Leaves 50 Displaced | Vancouver News

A fire erupted at Hillside Manor apartments around 4 AM, ripping through the second floor of a four-story building and leaving at least one unit destroyed and others damaged. Fifty residents were displaced, but miraculously, no lives were lost. One resident, Lisa Wiebe, described a terrifying escape—woken by smoke, forced to flee through a window as her floor threatened to collapse, rescued just in time by firefighters. The cause remains unknown, and rebuilding timelines are uncertain. Yet, amid the devastation, the community rallied—offering food, clothes, and support to those left homeless, proving resilience in the face of disaster.
