Hokies Win But Flaws Linger | Virginia Tech Hokie Football News

The Hokies bounced back with a 44-21 win over Old Dominion, but the victory came with glaring flaws. New coaching staff and Penn State transfers Ethan Grunkemeyer and Luke Reynolds led the charge, with Reynolds dominating for over 100 yards and two TDs. The passing game clicked, especially on short and intermediate routes, while the offensive line held up admirably. But the running game faltered near the red zone, play-calling needs overhaul, and execution was painfully slow. Discipline issues were rampant — a starting guard was ejected, and penalties kept key players off the field, threatening their thin offensive line. Redemption is in sight, but this team has serious work to do before they hit the road.
