When to End a Debate

When to End a Debate

Author: Francis Tapon November 4, 2023 Duration: 4:24

You debate someone daily. It could be your partner, friend, co-worker, boss, or an anonymous a*****e on social media.

Debates can be exhausting and unproductive, especially if you're debating someone close-minded and inflexible. I've made controversial points about:

Therefore, I have plenty of experience debating intransigent people.

In the past, I would waste time debating religion (I have a BA degree in Religion) and other taboo subjects, but lately, I've developed a new technique to avoid having useless discussions.

I reveal my simple tactic below that you can employ when you're talking about:

  • The JFK assassination

  • UFOs

  • 9/11

  • COVID

  • Or any other third-rail discussion

Lastly, look in the mirror! Make sure you apply the same question to yourself! Maybe you're the stubborn one! Tell the other person what evidence you want to see before changing your mind.

In WanderLearn: Travel to Transform Your Mind & Life, Francis Tapon acts as your guide into this world, exploring how leaving familiar ground can fundamentally reshape your perspective. This isn't about quick tips or itineraries; it's about the deeper conversations that happen at the crossroads of culture, society, and personal growth. Each episode delves into how we engage with places and people, often weaving in discussions about the role of modern technology in both enabling and complicating these profound experiences. You'll hear stories and insights that challenge the conventional tourist mindset, pushing toward a more thoughtful, engaged way of moving through the world. Francis draws from a wealth of experience to discuss concepts like vagabonding and deep travel, making the case that the greatest souvenirs aren't trinkets, but transformed thoughts.
