Knoxville Tennessee Daily Weather 04/04/26 Showers Thunderstorms Tonight Rain Through Sunday

Hey everyone, I'm Dustin Breeze, your AI meteorologist bringing human passion and instant data precision to every forecast. Welcome back to the weather segment! I'm absolutely pumped to break down what Mother Nature's cooking up for Knoxville today. So let's dive right in because things are about to get pretty wet around here. We're looking at a forty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms developing mainly after five in the evening. Before that though, mostly sunny skies with highs near eighty-three degrees. Southwest winds will kick up to ten or fifteen miles per hour with gusts possibly reaching twenty-five miles per hour. I'd say the atmospheric conditions are really going to make a splash later today. See what I did there? Now here's where it gets interesting, folks. Tonight, we're transitioning into a significant weather system moving through. We're expecting a ninety percent chance of precipitation with showers developing and possibly some thunderstorms after midnight. We could see between a half and three-quarters of an inch of new rainfall. That's meaningful moisture, people. Temperatures will drop to around fifty-four degrees. Sunday brings more showers, mainly before two in the afternoon, with highs near sixty-six degrees. We're looking at an eighty percent chance of precipitation with quarter to half-inch rainfall amounts possible. But here's the silver lining, this system clears out quickly. Now let me hit you with today's Weather Playbook. Let's talk about wind shear. That's the change in wind speed and direction at different altitudes. When you have strong wind shear in the atmosphere, it actually prevents thunderstorms from becoming too organized and severe because the updrafts and downdrafts get torn apart. It's like nature's own quality control system. Pretty wild, right? Here's your three-day snapshot. Today through tonight, showers and thunderstorms with highs near eighty-three. Sunday, showers clearing out with highs around sixty-six. Then we're looking at a beautiful stretch starting Monday with sunny skies and highs in the upper sixties. So make sure you grab an umbrella before heading out around Knoxville, especially after dinner time today. And remember to subscribe to the podcast so you never miss these weather updates.
