The Fort Knox UFO w/ Hellen Wildy

The Fort Knox UFO w/ Hellen Wildy

Author: Weird Science January 16, 2023 Duration: 48:18

For our 200th episode we sit down with the hilarious Hellen Wildy to discus the Amazing Story of the Fort Knox UFO. On January 7, 1948, 25-year-old Captain Thomas F. Mantell, a Kentucky Air National Guard pilot, died in the crash of his P-51 Mustang fighter plane near Franklin, Kentucky, after being sent in pursuit of an unidentified flying object.  Occurring the year after the famous Roswell crash, the event was among the most publicized early UFO incidents. We also discuss famous Fort Knox, home of a large portion of the United States' official gold reserves... or is it? Some think the gold was replaced long ago and now houses recovered UFOs! What better place to store one than the most secure place in the United States.

Ever find yourself staring at the night sky or reading a bizarre news headline and wondering how any of it actually works? That’s the territory Weird Science lives in. Hosted by comedians Justin and Shane, this podcast digs into the strange, fascinating, and often hilarious intersections of real science, fringe theories, and what the future might hold. Each episode feels like a late-night conversation with friends, where genuine curiosity meets a comedic perspective. They regularly bring fellow stand-up comics into the mix, ensuring the discussions are accessible and entertaining, never dry or overly academic. You’ll hear them tackle everything from quantum oddities and cosmological mysteries to the latest in futurist thought, all through a lens that questions the conventional narrative. It’s a show for anyone who loves the thrill of a good “what if” but prefers their deep dives served with laughter and good rapport. Previously operating under the name Conspiracy Beer Me, the podcast has evolved into a dedicated exploration of the wonderfully weird corners of our universe. Tuning in means joining a community that values asking big, funny questions without always needing definitive answers. For those who enjoy the blend of humor and heady topics, this is a consistently engaging listen.
