IndyCar insanity as Palou bolts for McLaren

IndyCar insanity as Palou bolts for McLaren

Author: All INdiana Podcast Network July 14, 2022 Duration: 36:55
On this episode, Charlie and 'The Car Cuz' Josh Steigman discuss the insanity unfolding inside the middle of the 2022 IndyCar season, as teams, drivers, media, and fans are watching one of the more bizarre off-track stories in the sport's history. At the moment, everything centers on reigning series champion, rising Spaniard star, Alex Palou. Just before 4 P.M. EST on Tuesday, Chip Ganassi Racing, Palou's current team, posted to twitter that it is exercising the option to renew Palou's contract for next season. This came as no surprise at all. Palou owns 12 podium finishes in just 25 career races, and is fourth in this year's championship standings. Back-to-back titles are still very much a possibility.  The chances the No. 10 team pull it off, however, plummeted just hours later. Tuesday night, Palou shared on social media that he *did not* approve of his team's press release, instead stating, for personal reasons this will be his final year with Chip Ganassi Racing. 13 minutes later, McLaren, a rival IndyCar team announced Palou was joining for the 2023 season. An absolutely crazy situation with so much to breakdown and debate regarding what will happen next. It's all on this episode. Enjoy!
