Cuda Ridge Wines - Larry Dino

Author: DKPS Media September 4, 2024 Duration: 49:16
Larry and Margie Dino are the proprietors of Cuda Ridge Wines. Their passion for fine wines led them to Livermore Valley – a world-class wine region with wine roots dating back to the mid-1800s. Over the years, they were inspired to learn more about the craft and traditions of making wine and founded Cuda Ridge in 2007 with a vision for producing premium wines.  Small lot, handcrafted, Bordeaux-style wines that bring out the wonderful terroir of Livermore Valley are their specialty. Cuda Ridge produces the six major red varietals of Bordeaux, Bordeaux style Rose’, and Sauvignon Blanc.   What helps Cuda Ridge stand out is not that they produce Bordeaux varietals, but the winemaking focus is on wines that have old world intensity and complexity.  Cuda Ridge wines is best known for Cabernet Franc.   “Cabernet Franc” has been a staple of the winery since we opened our doors in 2007”, says Larry Dino, winemaker and proprietor.  Cuda Ridge also initiated a Caménère program in Livermore Valley, a first of its kind.   Cuda Ridge works with three small growers and produces three vineyard designated Caménère’s with the first vintage in 2018.Cuda Ridge is named after the winemakers 1970, Plum Crazy purple, Barracuda muscle car.  Come on out and taste our award-winning wines and enjoy our family hospitality.

Crossing the Atlantic from its original home, Wine Soundtrack-USA brings a deeply personal format to American listeners. This podcast, produced by DKPS Media, sits at a unique intersection where the arts of storytelling and winemaking converge. Instead of tasting notes or vintage charts, each episode is built around a candid conversation where a wine producer answers thirty questions. That framework reveals the person behind the label-their history, their philosophy, and the daily realities of running a vineyard. You’ll hear the unscripted hopes and challenges that define a vintage long before the bottle is ever opened. It’s about the landscape, the family decisions, and the quiet moments in the cellar that most never get to witness. Originally launched in Italy in 2017, this series has built a reputation for intimacy, and its U.S. launch extends that same thoughtful inquiry to American soil. For anyone curious about what it truly means to craft wine, this podcast offers a direct line to the source. The conversations are less an interview and more an invitation to listen in on a story that’s been years in the making, one that gives context and character to every glass. It’s for those who believe the best part of wine is the human connection it represents.
