Climbing the Ladder with Traci Miller

Climbing the Ladder with Traci Miller

Amazing! I had the chance to speak with Traci Miller this week on my podcast, Women Influencers. She is the Senior VP of Corporate Communications at Miller Construction, where she started in 1993 as the office manager. She also gives motivational talks and serves on the executive committee of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Board of Directors, the boards of Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida (CIASF), Rebuilding Together Broward County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County, and on the United Way of Broward’s Women United Leadership Council, in addition to several other boards.

We discussed how her father and uncle founded Miller Construction, and how she ended up working there out of necessity after going through a divorce with two young children. Over the years, she has worked her way up the ladder to SVP. We discussed how an important part of her success is her willingness to voice what she wants, as it is easy to be overlooked and not considered for opportunities when you never say what you’re working towards.

We discussed her charitable involvement with Women on the Verge, which has awarded nearly half a million dollars in scholarships over the last 10 years. Then she gave some advice, and asked me about my recent commercial real estate acquisition.
