Danita Cummins: Navigating Faith, Leadership, and Purpose

In this episode of Women Influencers, I interview Danita Cummins, a business strategist for faith-driven leaders and the author of Promise Over Purpose. Danita shares her inspiring journey, from growing up in Oklahoma in a family of ranchers, roughnecks, and race car drivers to joining the Air Force in 1995. Her military service, which included working as a radar operator during 9/11 and supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, shaped her leadership skills and work ethic.

After her military service, Danita transitioned into the defense industry, working as a defense contractor and later with special operations. Her journey took a significant turn during the pandemic when she was laid off, prompting her to start her own consulting business. Danita now helps small to medium-sized companies, especially in the defense tech sector, with business strategy and organizational growth. She also works closely with nonprofits, leveraging her experience in both the government and private sectors to help organizations scale and thrive.

Danita’s entrepreneurial journey is deeply intertwined with her faith. She founded a crisis pregnancy outreach center, providing support to women facing challenges such as homelessness, abuse, and human trafficking. Through her nonprofit work, Danita has impacted countless lives, celebrating the birth of babies and offering essential resources to struggling families.

Her most proud achievement, however, is the ability to impact individuals' lives in real and tangible ways, whether through her work in ministry or through her coaching and consulting. Danita emphasizes that, while seeking purpose is essential, embracing God's promises can provide true peace and clarity.
