Josie Legido Correa: The Importance of Having A Network

Today on the Women Influencers podcast, I spoke with Josie Legido Correa, the President-Elect of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Miami. She is also JWR Construction’s Director of Business Development for Florida.

We discussed how she grew up in Miami, raised by her parents who immigrated from Cuba in 1960. She credited her parents for raising her, and cited her father’s inspirational work ethic as the biggest influence on her own.

Josie got her Associate’s degree in business then spent a year in France learning French and traveling. She started her early career at a non-profit, the Downtown Miami Partnership, eventually serving as its Director and working there a total of 23 years. After a 5 year stint at another non-profit, the Florida Retail Federation, Josie was able to leverage her network to pivot into Business Development.

Josie shared some great advice based on her own career experience, and asked me an interesting question I had to ponder before answering.
