Member's Talk by Dr. Lennell Dade (April 9, 2023) @WonDharmaCenter https://wondharmacenter.org/ The Founding Motive of the Teaching by Sotaesan Today, with the development of scientific civilization, the human spirit, which should be making use of material things, has steadily weakened, while the power of material things, which human beings should be using, has daily grown stronger, conquering that weakened spirit and bringing it under its domination; humans therefore cannot help but be enslaved by the material. How would they avoid the turbulent sea of suffering in their lives? Consequently, our founding motive is to lead all sentient beings, who are drowning in the turbulent sea of suffering, to a vast and immeasurable paradise by expanding spiritual power and conquering material power through faith in a religion based on truth and training in morality based on facts.

In the quiet moments between our daily tasks, we often seek a point of connection-a way to ground ancient wisdom in the reality of modern life. Won Buddhism Dharma Talks offers just that: a space where timeless teachings are explored not as historical artifacts, but as living, breathing guides for today's world. This podcast presents dharma talks that directly address the complexities of contemporary existence, from navigating personal relationships and work stress to cultivating a deeper sense of inner peace and purpose. The discussions stem from the perspective of Won Buddhism, which interprets the Buddha's core insights through a lens suited for our current society. You'll hear thoughtful reflections on integrating mindfulness into a busy schedule, the practical application of compassion in everyday interactions, and how to find clarity amidst constant noise. Each episode is an invitation to pause and reflect, providing listeners with tangible principles to consider and apply. The aim is not to add another item to your to-do list, but to offer a resonant perspective that can transform how you move through your day. We are here to share Won Buddhism dharma talks because we believe these teachings hold profound relevance, offering a path of wisdom that is both accessible and deeply transformative for anyone listening, wherever they are on their journey.
