Good Enough-FOR THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS

Good Enough-FOR THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS

Author: Juliette Marhofer-Dugger May 15, 2026 Duration: 37:47

In this solo episode of Yellow Soul, Juliette speaks straight to the hearts of sons and daughters who wonder if they’re really “enough” for this life and for God. Romans 8 shares with us, it's the spirit of religious duty, not love, that leads us back into the fear of never being good enough.

If you’ve ever felt unseen, overlooked, or like you don’t quite measure up spiritually, this conversation is for you. I slow down and talk about what true intimacy with God looks like, why your worth is not tied to your performance, and how God already sees you as deeply loved, chosen, and special.

You’ll be invited out of striving and comparison, and into a quieter, truer place of being known by God.

In this episode, we explore:

  • What intimacy with God actually is (beyond checking spiritual boxes)
  • Why “good enough” is a lie that keeps you distant from God’s heart
  • How God sees you as a beloved son or daughter right now, not someday
  • Simple practices to grow closer to God in your everyday life
  • How to bring your real thoughts, doubts, and emotions to God honestly
  • The difference between religious pressure and relational closeness

Scriptures to reflect on

  • Psalm 139:1–4, 13–14 – You are fully known and wonderfully made
  • 3 John 1:2 – God cares about the well-being of your soul
  • Romans 8:14–16 – You are a child of God, led by His Spirit
  • 1 Peter 5:7 – You can cast your cares on Him because He cares for you
  • Ephesians 2:10 – You are God’s workmanship, created on purpose

Take time after the episode to sit with one of these verses and ask God:
“Show me how You see me. Show me how You delight in me as Your as your son or daughter.”

Questions for reflection

  • Where have you believed you’re “not enough” for God?
  • What would change if you really trusted that you are fully seen and fully loved?
  • What is one small way you can make space for God’s presence in your week?

Hosted by Juliette Marhofer-Dugger, Yellow Soul is built on the belief that the experiences which shape us are worth examining, no matter how messy or unconventional they might seem. This interview-based podcast moves through a unique landscape where personal faith, professional hustle, and the pursuit of meaning constantly intersect. Each episode features candid, "rogue" conversations that refuse to stay in neat boxes, exploring how spirituality informs business decisions, how entrepreneurship tests personal values, and how the journey of self-improvement is often deeply rooted in something greater. You'll hear from a variety of voices discussing the real, often unspoken, challenges and triumphs found at the crossroads of Christianity, commerce, and personal growth. The guiding idea is simple yet profound: if something defined you, it matters. This podcast creates a space to unpack those defining moments with honesty and depth, offering listeners not just stories, but frameworks for reflection on their own paths. It’s for anyone who feels their career, their faith, and their inner life aren’t separate journeys, but threads of a single, complex tapestry. Tune in for discussions that are as practical as they are spiritual, always grounded in the real-world application of ideas that can transform both your work and your soul.
