This week’s theme features songs about different kinds of Media. It starts with The Beatles last number 1 single The Ballad of John And Yoko which John Lennon called a ‘piece of journalism’. This is followed up by our own Skyhooks and their take on the news with Horror Movie. One novelty song is The Coasters and their spoof on tv hero/villain shows Along Came Jones. Another is The Olympics and the fifties pre-occupation with westerns in Western Movies. Radio is prominent too – Queen’s Radio Ga Ga, Masters Apprentice’s Turn Up Your Radio and Indeep’s quirky Last Night A DJ Saved My Life.
