The Burbs (Breakdown)

Welcome back for another episode of You're Missen the Point Podcast. Today I have a fantastic collaboration with Julia from the Cosmic Peach Podcast. That's right Julia and I are back with another childhood favourite film breakdown of the 1989 dark comedy, thriller 'The Burbs'. The Burbs written by Dana Olsen, directed by Joe Dante tells the story of a typical American neighbourhood, when new neighbours come to live in the house next to Ray Peterson (Tom Hanks). These new people are really strange, bobby has ever seen them, their house is a complete mess, and during the night weird noises keep coming from their basement. The only thing they know is their name "Kopek". One day Walter (an elderly man from the neighbourhood) suddenly disappears under mysterious circumstances. Ray begins to question the Klopek's involvement while friend and fellow neighbour Art (Rick Ducommun) is convinced that the new family on the block is part of a murderous Satanic cult. Julia and I will continue to breakdown our childhood favourites in the coming months, watch this space! Last breakdown was all about dark magic and witchcraft!
