013 Have A Plan

013 Have A Plan

In this episode I talk about having a plan and how that is a key component in saving your life.

I like to use real life examples of how, if applied, the keys to your security are effective. Last weekend a lady was robbed in the Local Mall parking lot as she was crossing the black top toward her car. All she had was her purse but the bad guy wrestled her to the ground and took off with it.

The point here is that she was unaware that we are psychologically prone to grab the thing that is being taken from us. and that we usually assign unrealistic value to our possessions. Because of this we place ourselves in a precarious position without even realizing it.

What I mean is that when someone tries to take something from us we hold on to it and fight to keep it. It really doesn’t matter what it is. It could be purse, a bag of groceries, a bag of clothes we were going to donate anyway, but when we feel that something is being taken from us, we resist.

So in order to combat or go against that feeling it’s important to plan your reaction when it happened to you on the street. Plan on letting it go.
