046 Day 24 of the Covid-19 Response

046 Day 24 of the Covid-19 Response

Author: Gabriel Grimes April 10, 2020 Duration: 16:05
Crime hasn't taken a break. There are still kidnappings, theft and burglary of vehicles, and robberies and assaults. And if things do start going back to "normal" crime will increase.  Our numbers from NYC are 4778, which shows an increase of 518 from yesterday and from JHU 5150, which shows an increase of 579. The number are still very wonky in that they aren't even close. This points back to the information that is coming out of the crisis management teams. Since this is a Global pandemic there should be a Federal CM team and State Crisis Management teams. And they should be working together. In the business world if a person or group of people in authority were to speak out-of-turn or question the CM leader that person would be relieved of command, and removed. But in this case we are seeing multiple versions of the "truth" which leads to confusion and distrust. https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america/new-york https://ncov2019.live/ https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/covid/covid-19-data.page https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html

Gabriel Grimes hosts You're Security, a podcast that digs into the practical realities of personal safety as a component of everyday culture. This isn't about fear-mongering or complex theory; it's about cultivating a calm, observant mindset that integrates seamlessly into your routine. Each episode explores how situational awareness functions in real-world settings, from navigating a crowded transit station to the subtle dynamics within a workplace. You'll hear straightforward discussions on assessing environments, understanding baseline behaviors, and making simple choices that significantly enhance your security posture. The focus is on sustainable habits, not paranoia, offering actionable insights for life at home, during your commute, or while traveling abroad. The goal is to move security from an abstract concept to a tangible, practiced skill. By listening to this podcast, you engage with a continuous conversation about empowerment and preparedness, learning to trust your instincts and proactively shape your own safety. You're Security argues that true security is a personal responsibility, and developing it is a lifelong practice worth your attention.
