J-Air

J-AIR describes itself as Australia's only Jewish community radio station, broadcasting from Melbourne on 88FM and online. The daily backbone is Jewish music - the best from around the world, carrying the schedule between talk programmes - alongside community news, events directories and a busy membership base.

News comes from Israeli public broadcaster KAN in English each morning and the Jewish News Syndicate, while Behind The Headlines digs into the issues facing Israel and Jewish communities in Australia and beyond. Jewish History Hour with Max Kaltmann takes a different event each week, and Radio Forum serves Russian-speaking listeners with news, politics and Jewish topics.

There is room for lighter flavours too, from the long-running Italian music night Italmusic'84 to Zest and Recipes for Life. English-led but genuinely multilingual, J-AIR makes an easy community web radio listen online - the sound of Jewish Melbourne for listeners anywhere in the world.
