About Italia FM
Italia FM is an Italian-language web radio network run for Sydney's Italian community, online since 2004. Its flagship channel ItaliaFM 1 does exactly what the slogan promises - Solo Musica Italiana, nothing but Italian music, from chart pop to cantautori standards.
A second channel, ItaliaFM 2, turns the clock back to the Anni 60, 70, 80 - the decades that turned Italian songwriting into an export, from Sanremo classics to the songs that filled the kitchens and barbershops of the emigrant world, from Melbourne's Carlton to Buenos Aires.
For Italo-Australians it works like a weekly dose of home between visits, and for learners of Italian it is immersion radio at its easiest - no ads you cannot follow, no chatter, just decades of melody. Free to stream online anywhere, Italia FM makes an easy Italian web radio listen - Sydney to Sicily and back, around the clock and always in the mother tongue.
