MPBdoVinilAoDigital

MPBdoVinilAoDigital - MPB from vinyl to digital - is a non-commercial Brazilian web radio run, as its own blog states, solely for lovers of quality music, MPB above all. The motto says the rest: musica para lembrar e sonhar, music to remember and dream.

The name is a programme in itself: the vinyl-era canon transferred to the digital stream. The blog posts read like liner notes - profiles of Alaide Costa, Roberto Menescal, Doris Monteiro, Emilio Santiago, MPB-4 and Alcione, the Queen of Samba - while the rotation keeps the bossa nova and MPB classics flowing between them, all in Portuguese, with no ads to break the spell.

Active since 2019 on a simple Blogger home, the project is a labour of love rather than a business, updated with new artist features year after year, and the stream carries it worldwide - free web radio to listen online, for anyone who believes the great Brazilian songbook deserves a permanent dial, day or night.
