101 News FM

101 News FM broadcasts on 101.5 MHz from Irecê, in the highlands of central Bahia, with a mission statement that reads like a newsroom charter: impartiality, seriousness and quality in information and entertainment, innovation, and respect for its citizens, listeners and professionals.

The dial balances the two sides of its name: news bulletins and hits with a pop and Brazilian-music rotation, in Portuguese, from a studio in the city centre that feeds the internet directly. WhatsApp keeps the channel open for a region that still runs its daily life by radio - requests, tips and greetings all welcome.

Directory reviews from listeners as far away as Belo Horizonte show the signal travels well beyond the Bahia interior. Free web radio to listen online, around the clock, from the highlands of Irecê to wherever the news matters.
