Triple M Sydney

Triple M Sydney broadcasts on 104.9 FM as the Sydney home of the Triple M network, the rock brand of Southern Cross Austereo. The formula is built for its audience: rock music, sport and comedy, with the rugby league and AFL coverage that Sydney talks about and the big breakfast and drive shows that carry the day, from dawn until late.

The Triple M brand grew out of EON FM in Melbourne in 1980 and spread to every capital; in Sydney it has long been the station for rock and footy; the 104.9 frequency began as 2MMM in 1980, the first commercial FM license of the city. The network also runs digital spin-offs like Triple M Classic Rock on DAB+ and online. The 104.9 signal covers Sydney, and the live online stream carries the same mix of guitars and goals to listeners anywhere in Australia and abroad.
