Early career

Archy Marshall began releasing music under various aliases, including Zoo Kid, in his mid-teens, crafting a uniquely dark and atmospheric sound from his South London base. His early self-released tracks and the 2011 King Krule EP on the House Anxiety label captured immediate attention for their stark lyrical perspective and sparse, haunting instrumentation.

Breakthrough

The artist's major breakthrough arrived in 2013 with the release of his debut studio album, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, via True Panther Sounds and XL Recordings. The record, featuring the standout single Easy Easy, charted in the UK and established King Krule as a singular new voice, his deep vocals and melancholic narratives set against a backdrop of jagged guitar work and jazz-inflected rhythms.
