Paul Krugman Calls for 'De-MAGAification' After Trump

Paul Krugman Calls for 'De-MAGAification' After Trump

Author: Jim Geraghty & Greg Corombos – Political Humor Commentary June 4, 2026 Duration: 24:43
Join Jim and Greg for an all-crazy Thursday 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss Paul Krugman's call for the de-MAGAification of America after President Trump leaves office, Democrats' refusal to condemn the growing scandals surrounding Graham Platner, California government unions fighting return-to-office orders, and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner's complaints about the Supreme Court.

First, Jim and Greg blast far-left Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman's argument that the United States should undergo a "thorough purging" of the MAGA movement, comparing it to Germany's de-Nazification process after World War II.

Next, they hammer Democrats such as Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for continuing to dodge questions about Platner's mounting controversies. Jim asks whether Democrats are willing to enforce even the most basic standards of character and accountability for their own candidates.

Then, Jim and Greg are baffled by California unions representing government employees continuing to push for delays in returning to in-person work. They also laugh at the arguments for them not coming back to work.

Finally, they react to Sen. Mark Warner's accusation that the Supreme Court is showing partisan bias in its congressional redistricting rulings. Jim and Greg explain why the decisions are not a double standard and how the court is really approaching these issues.

Each day can feel like a barrage of headlines, a chaotic mix of the serious and the absurd. That’s where 3 Martini Lunch-Political Humor & Commentary comes in. Hosts Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos have built a following by sorting through the noise with a specific, effective ritual. They serve up the day’s events in three distinct parts they call "martinis": one for the genuinely good news, another for the frustratingly bad, and a final one reserved for the utterly crazy stories that defy belief. What you’ll hear in this podcast is a conversation that feels like sitting with two well-informed friends who aren’t afraid to be sharp, witty, or blunt. They analyze politics and culture with a perspective that cuts through partisan talking points, aiming for clarity and, often, a much-needed laugh. The pace is brisk and designed for a commute or a lunch break, but the commentary is substantial. Tuning into this podcast means getting a digest of what matters, framed with humor and insight that makes the whirlwind of news actually digestible. It’s a daily check-in that manages to be both smart and consistently entertaining, providing a structured way to understand the world without losing your sanity in the process.
