Gleise und Stellwerke werden oft geplant, bevor der gewünschte Verkehr feststeht. Der Vortrag zeigt, wie sich die Verknüpfung zwischen Wunschfahrplan und Gleisanordnung formalisieren lässt — mit Schichtenmodell, offenen Datenformaten und einer Landkarte zentraler Teilprobleme. Stellen Sie sich vor: Alle 30 Minuten soll ein ICE zwischen zwei Städten fahren. Das ist eine klare Vorgabe — wie ein Wunschzettel. Gleise, Weichen und die Sicherheitstechnik sind das, was man dafür bauen muss. In der Praxis wird der Wunschzettel oft erst geschrieben, nachdem schon gebaut wurde. Bei Großprojekten wird sichtbar, wie schwer es ist nachzuvollziehen, warum die geplante Infrastruktur zum versprochenen Verkehrsangebot passt. Der Vortrag untersucht den ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Kern: Wie ließe sich die Verknüpfung zwischen Verkehrswunsch und Gleisplanung nachvollziehbar und maschinenlesbar machen? Klassische Bahnplanung folgt einem Wasserfall: Erst Netz und Infrastruktur, dann der Fahrplan im Betrieb. Integrierte Planung aber setzt voraus, dass der gewünschte konkrete Fahrplan von Anfang an die Infrastruktur mitbestimmt (z. B. wie beim Deutschlandtakt). Im Zentrum steht die Frage: Wie leitet man systematisch eine Gleisanordnung aus einem Wunschfahrplan ab? Der Vortrag stellt ein Schichtenmodell vor — angelehnt an das OSI-Modell des Internets, bei dem Daten Schicht für Schicht von der Anwendung bis zur Leitung wandern. Für die Bahn: acht Ebenen von Gleisen und Stellwerk bis zum Fahrplan, jede mit Aufgabe und Schnittstelle zur nächsten. Anhand der Frage „Wie lange braucht der Zug von A nach B?" zeige ich, wie die Antwort Ebene für Ebene entsteht — und wie sich die Richtung umdrehen lässt: vom Wunschfahrplan zur Gleisanordnung.
