About Radio Today 89.6 FM
Radio Today 89.6 FM holds a permanent place in Bangladeshi broadcasting history: when it launched in Dhaka in May 2006, it became the country's first private FM station. Two decades on it still runs around the clock from the capital, reaching Dhaka, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Khulna, Sylhet and further cities with a mix of music, news and infotainment in Bengali.
Programmes such as Morning Crush, School of Rock and Afternoon Cafe carry the broadcast day, blending popular Bangladeshi music, classics and Hindi songs, while Everyday News airs five times daily with the Dhakar Chaka segment weaving live traffic updates between shows. The station was the first private operator to run its own news bulletins, later co-produced news with Voice of America, and its Green Radio campaign pushed environmental awareness on air.
From the capital to the whole country and beyond, the signal now also streams worldwide in MP3 through any web player or radio app. Free web radio, a live listen online - the pioneer FM of Bangladesh, still going today.
