Sycophancy - Deep Dark Progressive Trance

The Deep Dark Progressive, Tribal, Techno, Psy, & Trance Mixes by Jess Van Ness podcast is a direct transmission from the edges. For Jess Van Ness, this isn't just about playing records; it's about translating a lifetime spent in subterranean scenes into a cohesive sonic journey. Raised in the undercurrents of Los Angeles, he has always gravitated toward the fringes, a tendency sharpened by years of traveling the world and absorbing underground cultures across continents. Now based in San Diego, he continues to channel that global influence into his art, drawing from earliest obsessions with music that lived in the shadows: the rebellion of punk rock and the raw edge of industrial. Each mix in this podcast is a curated chapter, blending deep, dark progressive layers with tribal rhythms, driving techno, psychedelic textures, and soaring trance. The result is more than a set of tracks-it's an atmospheric narrative, built for late nights and lost-in-thought moments. You'll hear the convergence of these genres, meticulously woven to reflect a perspective shaped by real places and hidden spaces. Expect no frills, no hype, just a consistent dive into the nuanced and often powerful realms of electronic music. This is for those who seek a journey, a physical and mental drift facilitated by sounds that are both intricate and visceral. Tune in when you want the background to fall away and the pulse to take over.
