The Virtue of Immortality

The Virtue of Immortality

Author: The Research Lodge April 17, 2020 Duration: 3:09

With the world around more than ever collectively aware of the crisis, suffering, strife, and even death, I want to call back to our October 2019 issue titled, “Death, Immortality & Freemasonry.” In this issue, the Southern California Research Lodge seeks to discuss and, in some cases, provide answers to the question, “what Do we find when facing death?”

Our episode today is the cover article from this issue and was privately printed in 1923 as The Master’s Lecture on Immortality from Evans Lodge No. 524.

For more than sixty years, the pages of Fraternal Review have served as a quiet, thoughtful resource for those curious about Freemasonry. This podcast, brought to you by The Research Lodge, extends that tradition into a new medium. Rather than broad overviews, each audio edition focuses deeply on a single, carefully chosen subject. You might find yourself exploring the origins and meanings behind specific Masonic symbols, or unpacking a pivotal moment in the fraternity’s long history. The discussions delve into lesser-known lore and philosophical concepts, offering a sense of depth and context that goes beyond the surface. It’s a continuation of a dedicated scholarly effort, designed for both long-time members seeking deeper understanding and anyone genuinely intrigued by this enduring aspect of society and culture. Tuning into this podcast is like attending a well-prepared lecture or engaging in a substantive conversation, where each episode builds upon a legacy of meticulous research and shared knowledge. The aim is to inform and illuminate, one specific topic at a time, maintaining the publication's respected role as a source of Masonic education.
