Assembly of Souls

There's a certain feeling when a beat locks in and a bassline takes over, a physical connection to rhythm that feels both fresh and deeply familiar. That's the space GROOVELECTRIC: Downloadable Soul occupies. Curated and mixed by Steve Boyett, the mind behind the influential Podrunner series, this podcast is a dedicated exploration of what he calls the New Old Funk. It's not a history lesson, but a living blend. Each episode weaves together the driving, synthetic energy of contemporary house, progressive, and tech house with the raw, organic soul of classic funk. The result is a seamless mix where vintage grooves provide the heart and modern production provides the pulse. You'll hear how a timeless rhythm section can underpin a cutting-edge synth line, creating something entirely new yet instantly recognizable. This is music for movement and immersion, crafted by someone who understands the architecture of a great track and the flow of a perfect set. Forget genre labels; the focus here is on a specific, electrifying vibe-a downloadable dose of soul designed to move your body and engage your mind. Tune in for a consistently smooth and energetic journey through sound.
