This weeks episode of the podcast is an interview with Bryan Funck (Vocalist), Andy Gibbs (Guitarist) and Mitch Wells (Bassist) of the band Thou.

We discussed the bands new album "Umbilical" which is available now wherever you listen to music as well as directly from the band.

After discussing the album we also got into a pretty deep discussion about polital ethos and the correlation with "problematic" metal bands in the scene and whether its the listeners discretion to directly support these bands or not.

We also just have a general good time and some laughs about the best song on the album "House of Ideas" and that you should in FACT, only listen to the first half of the album and not even bother with the rest.

Thanks to Bryan, Mitch and Andy for their time.

Dustin "Wildcard" Koetsch hosts Heavy Metal History: The Podcast, a weekly deep dive that treats the genre's past not as a dry timeline but as a living, breathing story of artistic struggle and triumph. This isn't just a collection of trivia; it's an audible journey built on meticulous research and firsthand accounts. Koetsch also brings in musicians themselves as guests, turning the show into a roundtable where influences, personal histories, and behind-the-scenes stories are shared directly from the source. The focus is on the records-the stories of how they were written and recorded, capturing the specific struggles and victories embedded in their grooves. By moving chronologically through metal's evolution, this podcast builds a comprehensive and nuanced narrative, connecting the dots between eras and subgenres to show how the music we hear today was forged in the fires of the past.
