Author: KMOJ-89.9 FM “The People’s Station” July 15, 2024 Duration: 57:23

The 4 Opinions and guest Marques Armstrong, Shaundelle Darris, Farji Shaheer, and mother Andrea, who lost her son to gun violence #chanceafterchancellc joined our show to discuss upcoming movements and plans that are strictly targeting ways to stop violence in our communities. There will be a community event on Thursday, August 18th, at the Capri Theater.

The most devastating thing I heard on the show was our guest expressing the void and hurt she felt from the lack of community support after losing her son to gun violence in Minneapolis in 2022.

17 organizations will be under one roof, with new support and new solutions/ideas to bring a decline in the crime rate in Minnesota.

From the studios of KMOJ-89.9 FM “The People’s Station” in Minneapolis comes KMOJ's Community Viewpoint, a series of conversations rooted in nearly five decades of community connection. This podcast extends the station's legacy beyond the radio dial, creating a dedicated space for discussions that matter deeply to the communities of color it serves. Each episode delves into the issues, stories, and perspectives that directly impact collective health and well-being, from local initiatives to broader cultural shifts. You’ll hear authentic dialogue that reflects the lived experiences of the community, fostering understanding and highlighting paths forward. The tone is informed by the station's long history, having first gone on the air in 1976, and carries the same commitment to being a genuine resource.
